Last weekend the Guild held its annual State Conference which incorporated the AGM. All the Branches were well represented and for many it was the first chance to catch up with other members from around the State as the previous years have been affected by Covid restrictions. Having the AGM at the State Conference gives both City and Country members a chance to see what has been happening in the Guild and to support the new Executive. After the reports were read and the new Executive voted in the fun and creativity could start. A “simple” project was supplied and although for some it was a new technique many achieved a finished flower by the end of the 2days. Both the Library and Trading Table had a lot of bargains for sale. This was very popular and most members went home with new treasures. The talk on Friday night by Annette Meldrum on Borris Lace was informative and inspirational.
Many thanks need to go to the organisers, caterers and the library and trading table people. The State Conference, organised by Di Kirchner (Country Co-ordinator) and her team of Tutors and helpers was a lot of fun and members can now look forward to next year.
