We meet at 10:00am until 3:00pm on the first, third and fifth Sundays of the month.
We are very flexible and relaxed in our day of stitching together. We may start with morning tea and show and tell. Always chatting and finding out what is new in our lives. Bickering about world news or saving the environment. Excited to see one another when somebody has returned from workshops, retreat or tours, interstate or overseas. Also admiring the treasures that they return with.
All types of hand embroidery are stitched within our group. Counted work of various types, intricate or not. Surface embroidery of all types. Be it crewel, thread painting, sashiko, wool felt, applique, quilting, beading, goldwork and silk work etc etc. It is always an exciting journey to see a new project being brought in to be started or planned and the finishes that are completed. A beautiful piece of stitching at its end. Helping each other with colour or a thread choice or embroidery technique. We have such a diverse skill set within the Sunday Stitchers group.
We have been known to do a group project for SALA exhibition or a challenge that someone suggests. Some of our group are very prolific stitchers and do an amazing amount of work.
Do come and join us. For the whole set session or whatever amount of time you chose to stitch with us. Whilst our hours are quite fixed. The time you spend with us or stitching is flexible and up to the individual. We do not press or push for mandatory attendance join us when you like. (Completion of a project is not pushed either unless a challenge has to be completed by a set date and you have agreed to participate. Even then we do not pressure. Except to remind others of the finish date)!
We like to offer our companionship and our shared love of Needlework in whatever form it may be. To be around like minded folk whom enjoy the same things we do.
The Sunday Stitchers are open to all Guild Members from other groups and interstate and visitors alike.
