Join Melissa to stitch a colourful thread painted butterfly. Basic surface stitches including split stitch, French knots, long and short stitch, and stem stitch are used to create the finished embroidery. Choose one design from four brightly coloured butterflies, each with a branch of gum leaves and flowers. Each design is approximately 10cm across. A kit that contains a full colour instruction booklet, a pre-printed linen panel, DMC stranded cotton threads, fabric, needles and materials needed to mount your work as a hanging decoration or a circular container lid will be available at a cost of $25. If students wish to stitch more than one butterfly, extra kits can be pre ordered or purchased on the day.
Additional mounting kits and some concrete pots will also be available on the day for a small cost.
