During this Surface Stitchery class Jackie will teach some of the techniques she uses to stitch her underwater scenes and animals.
You will be guided through creating your own unique scene using a variety of traditional and contemporary embroidery techniques as well as applying and using a range of recycled and repurposed materials. You will also use beads, sequins, silk cocoons, mulberry bark, hand dyed threads, wire, metal threads, ribbons and shells.
You will be provided with a piece of hand dyed fabric and backing material and a basic kit of threads and embellishments.
You will have access to paints, stamps and stencils, a heat gun and soldering iron as well as sewing machines.
This class is suitable for all levels of stitchers
