This project is designed as an introduction to metal thread embroidery. It is stitched using a small selection of basic goldwork techniques and is ideal if you have little or no experience in metal thread embroidery.
To get the most from this workshop, I recommend that you have some embroidery experience and that you are comfortable with basic embroidery stitches.
In this workshop, you will embroider a roundel with a marguerite daisy on the front and your initials on the back. The embroidery is worked with a selection of metallic gold threads and wires, and fine silk threads onto watermelon pink silk.
The two-day class is designed to teach you an introduction to basic goldwork techniques. You will learn the basics of couching laid thread, using pearl purl, and applying chipping and kid leather.
