Filling the Surface 2 day workshop with Anna Scott

With a focus on filling stitches, this workshop is designed for you to create a small panel completely covered in embroidery. To create your unique piece of embroidery, you will fill the shapes within the design with stitches you already know or try new ones.

Prior to the workshop, I will send you guidelines and assist you in preparing your design. I will also be giving you some design examples for you to use as inspiration or to choose from if you don’t feel like drawing your own.

During the workshop, we will discuss how to look at shapes and elements within a design and what to consider when deciding which stitch or thread to use to achieve various outcomes. We will talk about textures, light reflection, stitch direction, stitch and thread size, stitch and thread combinations and how all these variables will alter the finished result.

I will help guide you in planning your personal embroidery and assist you in getting started on your unique embroidery design. You will then embroider your design using your own selection of threads.

Class notes will be $10.
