Coptic Stitch Book Binding with Ann-Marie Anderson-Mayes

This workshop will take you through the process of creating a handmade book using the Coptic Stitch binding method. The class is particularly for students who participated in my “Medieval City” class in March 2020, however, it is also suitable for any students who would like to learn how to create a beautiful handmade book with a fabric cover.

Students who have completed their “Medieval City” embroidery will be making an A4-sized journal, however, I am also happy for you to work on a smaller A5 journal instead. This is a lovely way to make up “Pretty Parterre” if you have done that workshop with me too. You don’t even need a piece of embroidery. You can simply use some fabric to cover the front and back covers.

I will provide a set of full-colour instructions and two A4 acid-free pieces of board to each student for $20.00. (Students working an A5 journal will cut one of these pieces in half and have a spare to take home).
