The red blackwork spot motif sampler features 17th century floral slip motifs and small creatures, such as butterflies and moths, a ladybird, snails and a frog, all embroidered in double running stitch in dark berry-coloured silks. Scattered in amongst these, like jewels, are stitch samples worked in gold thread. The sampler measures 14.5cm wide by 13cm long.
Suitable for stitchers with some experience.
